How to Affair-Proof Your Relationship

Just in time when I am in the midst of the biggest extramarital affairs problem, oppps. I bump into a very nice article for affair-proofing one’s relationship. And if only I can share this to that ‘superman’ and to his ‘martyr wife’ I would! They need to know this. But what I can only do is sigh. And absorb all the man’s wrath for caring so much for his wife and his family.

An affair is an extreme symptom of a relationship that has been in trouble for some time. Affairs do not happen out of the blue and rarely happen because someone is a bad person. Cheating is caused by one single factor: "Lack." In a relationship, it's a lack of love, attention, intimacy, recognition, respect, and connection that builds up over time. Eventually, this "lack" can become so painful that the person in the most pain will often act out by cheating. Because communication has broken down, the cheating person doesn't feel like they can talk to their partner, so that makes them vulnerable to cheating.

So, how do you avoid getting to this point in a relationship? Below are seven ways to avoid the "lack" and prevent a potential affair.

1. Avoid complacency.

2. Keep the lines of communication open.

3. Pay attention to your gut.

4. Find time for each other.

5. Know when it's a time of stress and pay attention to your partner even more.

6. Understand the real issues in your relationship.

7. Always remember what it was that made you fall in love with your partner.

Avoid the "lack" and affair-proof your relationship by staying conscious of yourself and your partner. Nurture each other and keep the lines of communication open.

What Breakfast in Bed?

I have an aching head recalling if there’s an instance when husband and I had breakfast in bed. For one, we don’t have bed at home, our bed is yena’s bed. For two, we don’t cook breakfast on weekdays anymore. We both would like to have an extended sleep every morning so waking up to cook is tough. So what breakfast in bed are we talking about? LOL

Alright, I remember a time. When I gave birth to Yena I had those sweet breakfasts in bed with loads of kisses on the side. Husband was the sweetest. I would wake up with a hot soup and rice for breakfast, lunch or dinner. And he would always cook for me. When I am sick, he is there for me. He is my chef, my nurse, my lover – giving me not only yummy food but also kisspirin and yakapsul.

Sometimes I wish I can give birth everyday or get sick everyday to feel this again, lol. But no! Alright, YES! LOL haahah

Will you still love me tomorrow?

I have to ask husband on his answer to that – or maybe he should leave his comment here if he isn’t that busy. Anyways, if you would ask me that my answer would be:

Haha, seriously I will love my husband ‘til eternity. I am excited by the thought of growing old with him – loving him until we have gray hairs, toothless and wrinkled. I hope I can still read his mushy posts on his blog.. I wonder if we still have enough energy to even type on a keyboard. LOL

Plans for the Valentine’s Day

Husband has been asking me where we would be spending our Valentine’s Day many days before February starts. He isn’t that excited! We spent time eating out or watching movies every heart’s day before so I told him we might be watching a movie or dine at Max’s for a change, lol.

Just this Sunday, he again asked me of my plans. I said we can’t have a date on the 14th coz it will be Joey’s interment. The whole family will be at the cemetery in the afternoon of February 14. Jean specifically picked the date, she said she wants to be with Joey on Valentine’s day.

So maybe after that when we still have enough energy to spend our ‘solo’ time together we will sneak out somewhere, but I doubt it. But everyday is a valentine’s day when we are together.. Maybe we can have a date on the 13th or 15th instead.. wink.

Why do I love thee?

I love you because I will not know how my life would be without you! I love you so much daddy, for a lot of reasons or for no reasons at all. I love you and thank you for always bearing with my tantrums.. I love you for being YOU!!

I would like to keep this post short and would like to ask for prayers for husband’s favorite cousin Jean, who get married to her long time BF last January 23. Today, 11 days after the wedding, her husband Joey died on a motor accident. It feels so trembling to know that by a snap of a finger, a life is lost – a love that’s just starting all of sudden came to an end. And while typing this, my daughter Yena kept on asking where’s her Tito Joey or her Tita Jean… Sad. Sniff.

Ever After

My favorite love story of all time is The Notebook. I just love the film and the actors on it. But what i like to feature on TCP this week is my second favorite love film of all – EVER AFTER. I have been looking around for my own copy of this one.. I need to have a DVD, husband has to watch this ASAP. LOL
