Parent Trap

One of my favorite movie of all time is The Parent Trap. I watched this movie when i was in high school and the memory of this awesome film didn't leave me since then. I love how Lindsay Lohan played the part of a twin, she is really cute. This movie is my share on this tuesday's theme of For the Entire Family movie :)

For a synopsis:
Hallie Parker and Annie James look exactly alike. What was it like being a twin without you knowing it? That's what the story goes for these girls. Hallie is a cool, laid-back gal from California. Annie James is a proper gal from London. Annie has never met her father, and Hallie has never met her mother. When they get thrown into the Isolation Cabin on their summer camping, they uncover the mystery behind the ripped picture. They realize that they are twin sisters separated at birth by their divorced parents, and they decide to switch places to meet the parent that they've never met. They also decide to get them back together. But then something awful happens that will wreck everything: their father is engaged to a beautiful, selfish witch who's only after their dad's money.

23 Months of Wedding Bliss

Today, 26 of September, marks our 23 months as a couple. The ride has been rough and smooth but the will to keep the marriage alive is still holding us closer each day. I will be always grateful for each day that we have our moments when the husband stands firm on keeping our vows. He has always been the fortress of this matrimony, he holds dear to the day we both said ‘I do’. And getting out of the union is never on the list of our choices.

The marriage vows we made in front of Judge Victoria always brings smile to my face. We swore to love one another laughing; we had so much fun at our wedding. Though the thought that my parents were not present on our wedding, still I won’t regret the day I finally said I do to the man who loves me at my best and embraces me at my worst.

I am actually looking forward to our 2nd year anniversary which will be spent in Palawan with our daughter Yena and a lot of close friends. We prefer celebrating with our friends so our solo time will happen after that 3 days vacation. Might be in Tagaytay or in a place where we love to cuddle and snuggle.. Am so excited.

Tuesday Couch Potatoes: Iron Man

For today's theme at TCP as Robot/Cyborg Movie i decided to share Iron Man. Honestly, i have apprehensions before watching this movie, as i am into romantic/drama/comedy movies but when husband told me the movie seemed exciting i joined him. And yes Iron Man is a very exciting movie.. i have no regrets watching this and am so excited to see Iron Man 2 which will be showing on 2010!

Here's my short summary for Iron Man:
Tony Stark is an engineering genius and a complete playboy who runs Stark Industries, a weapon company. While in Afghanistan demonstrating his new missile invention he was captured and wounded by Afghanistan rebels. His captors want him to assemble a missile for them but instead he created an armored suit and a means to prevent his death from the shrapnel left in his chest by the attack. He used the armored suit to escape. Back in the U.S. he announces his company will cease making weapons and he begins work on an updated armored suit only to find out that his partner at Stark Industries Obadiah Stane has been selling Stark weapons to the insurgents in the Middle East. He uses his new suit to return to Afghanistan to destroy the arms and then to stop Stane from mishandling his research.

For better or for worst

In sickness and in health..

Til death do us part.

Even unmarried people memorize that! But when said on your wedding day in front of all in attendance and most of all God as witnesses, do we really mean those words?

I mean, my husband isn’t perfect and neither do i. I throw fits then and there, he would forgive me, sometimes say sorry even when I was the one at fault. Being a good wife is what I dream every now and then but can I be a good wife when tending our very own kitchen I fail? Alright, that’s shallow.

You love your husband on your glory days together, but when he shows his temper, ridicule you in public and brought you humiliation, do you still love him? I might call it my worst this morning but I know he would not do that if I only understood. That was just a petty misunderstanding but the scar it left my heart will take time to heal..

But loving him in spite and despite of all that transpired this morning is the WORST I am referring to on “for better or for worst” piece. So if i would not be following that piece and leave because of that "worst" am referring too, i only choose a life that is "for better" it would have been the best choice but is it really the best?

Am always glad i watched, FIREPROOF. I would never choose to leave. I would never leave my partner behind, especially in a fire!

Even if there are no more 'for better" and what life only offers is 'worst'.

$3 for Daniel

George Daniel Arevalo Samson, 5 months old son of my high school friend Clarissa has biliary atresia with cirrhosis and is in immediate need of liver transplant. The operation has never been done in the Philippines and the doctor’s advice is to go to Taiwan for the cheapest operation of which will cost roughly 3 Million Pesos ($60,000).

Now, no matter how much I feel ashamed for asking help again, there is a must in my heart that says I have to do it for the sake of the child and their family. I am now on my knees, with tears in my eyes knocking on each of your hearts for $3 to help save Daniel’s life...

I know God moves in mysterious ways and I have faith that the Lord will grant us our fervent wish if we ask in group. I am asking for prayer power and blog power, if you have a blog please spread about this $3 for Daniel Project.

Or you might want to click my paypal donate button at my personal blog's sidebar right away, surely your $3 will bring little Daniel to TAIWAN the soonest possible time!

Thank you very much! God bless your heart!

PS;
Sorry if all my 5 blogs and my husband's blog have the same post for today. There is an urgent NEED for this very worthy cause, time might be running out and we need to send Daniel to Taiwan the soonest possible time. Ty

Tuesday Couch Potato: Little Mermaid

For this tuesday's theme of TCP as Disney's Fairy Tale theme i decided to write about The Little Mermaid. I would like to write about BOLT but it's not a fairy tale (LOL) but i love the movie, while The Lion King, one of my all time fave, was the choice of my OC dear kumareng Pehpot, Cinderella was my first choice but my kumareng seiko got it already plus the Beauty and the Best as my second choice was posted already by the TCP author kikamz. So now, i have to share my love for the little mermaid, ariel.

The Little Mermaid has it's local version in Dyesebel and a comedic rival Marinara. By heart you already know the story of The Little Mermaid, Ariel who has a very angelic voice, her life under the see and her dream of seeing the world above the ocean. Of course, it is one of those films who tell a story of a quests for TRUE LOVE. There are bumps along the road like the sorcerer Ursula and there are friends who helped her on her way to her Prince heart...

'And they live happily ever after' are the words i like most to read on every disney films ending! How about you? :) Join us every tuesday at TCP. It's always fun! :)

Fireproof your marriage

I have learned about the movie FIREPROOF from Tuesday Couch Potato meme authored by my blogger friend kikamz. I forgot who among the blogger listed Fireproof (if that blogger happens to be you please tell me so I can link you up here, thank you!) I already have long list of movies to watch, my must watch list is with me every time I go. I am planning to watch them all! Thanks TCP!

Back to Fireproof ;) There are some quotes that I love to share here that I got from the movie;

A woman is like a rose, treat her right and she will bloom.

Never leave your partner behind, especially in a fire!
Marriage is not only a contract, it is a covenant.
Husband and I had a good laugh as we see ourselves on some of the scene of the movie. I had a hard time pulling back my tears, I don’t like my sarcastic husband to see me crying over movies. He will tease me forever for doing that! But I felt a lump in my throat at the ending of the movie.. The actors and every word in the movie are remarkable. I love how they put all the teachings of God especially regarding marriage into the film.

I recommend this movie to all couples out there not only to those whose marriage are on the rocks but also to those who are head over heels in love. This is one of my favorite film of all time!

Tuesday Couch Potato: The Lodger

For today's theme of Tuesday Couch Potato, i chose The Lodger coz this was the latest suspense thriller i have watched in years. As i've always say to my girlfriends who would invite me out for a suspense thriller film, i won't buy a ticket just to give me heart attack. For all the movies i watched in my entire life, i can count how many of them are suspense thriller. They are less than 5! :)

I've watched this movie with husband one friday night and i might have collapsed on some part of the movie (going to the comfort room helps a lot! LOL), i don't like scary, suspense thriller films, i don't like killings, bloods and screamings.. But i finished this movie after a couple of loud cries and hard slapping to husband to press the stop button already, i am that coward when it comes to suspense movies :) Whew. But for those who wants a great night of suspense, try to grab a copy.. aside from the bloody murders and twist of events the movie is mind boggling and somewhat funny :)

The Lodger summary:
Alfred Molina (Spider-Man 2), Hope Davis (About Schmidt), Shane West (The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen) and Simon Baker (TV's The Mentalist) star in this terrifying thriller. The Lodger follows a seasoned detective on the trail of a ruthless killer intent on slaughtering prostitutes along West Hollywood's Sunset Strip. It appears that the murderer's grisly methods are identical to that of London's infamous 19th century psychopath Jack the Ripper - a relentless serial killer who was never caught by police. To make matters worse, the detective soon notices the parallels between the crimes committed by the West Hollywood stalker and those of a serial murderer incarcerated years ago. Could the wrong man be behind bars? Also starring Rachael Leigh Cook (Nancy Drew). [D-Man2010]

Fitness Partners

Since husband is getting heavier and is having hard time catching his breath for every time he plays basketball, we decided to jog every weekends. We need some exercise, we spend our weekdays just sitting at the office so weekends should be for fitness.
The fitness partners!

I find it funny to imagine such a tiny me jogging with husband every 6am at our place. I don't know but people in our area aren't use to seeing people jogging, so to see us gasping for breath while running and brisk walking seem so alien to them!

I don't know too if what keeps the people from looking at us was because of my very skiny legs. I know, i know, i hate my legs it is very skiny but it's my husband's favorite part of my body. Weeeeh :) Ok now i admit, my purpose in doing that morning ritual with husband is to have a shapely legs! Good luck sa'ken! hahah

Tuesday Couch Potato: The Proposal

I had a very busy day at work but i hurried to get home to watch the DVD of THE PROPOSAL. I long wanted to write Ms Congeniality 1 or 2 but there is something about this new film that made me longing. And Sandra Bullock didn't fail me, i just made the neighbors awake with my very loud giggles last night. Ryan Reynolds played his comedic part well too! It was a treat after a very stressful day at work. Grab a copy and know what I mean when I say it’s really hilarious!
here's the full synopsis of The Proposal:
Margaret Tate (Sandra Bullock) is the executive editor-in-chief of a book publishing company, Colden Books, who forces her assistant Andrew Paxton (Ryan Reynolds) to marry her in order to avoid being deported to Canada. He grudgingly accepts, under the condition that he is promoted to the position of editor. When the government investigates, the two are forced to spend the weekend with his parents in Alaska in order to sell the lie. The family suggest they could marry the same weekend, and they reluctantly accept. They start to fall genuinely in love as they spend more and more time together. Because of this, during the wedding ceremony, Margaret decides she cannot do this to Andrew and confesses the business arrangement in front of everyone--including the immigration officer handling their case. She is then told that she has 24 hours to get back to Canada, and thus goes back to New York to pack her things. Upon doing so, however, Andrew shows up at the office and confesses his love for her in front of the entire office staff, proposing marriage all over again. [D-Man2010]

When high-powered book editor Margaret faces deportation to her native Canada, the quick-thinking exec declares that she's actually engaged to her unsuspecting put-upon assistant Andrew, who she's tormented for years. He agrees to participate in the charade, but with a few conditions of his own. The unlikely couple heads to Alaska to meet his quirky family and the always-in-control city girl finds herself in one comedic fish-out-of-water situation after another. With an impromptu wedding in the works and an immigration official on their tails, Margaret and Andrew reluctantly vow to stick to the plan despite the precarious consequences. [D-Man2010]
