What do you call your dad?

Last night, my daughter called her daddy: BOY!

My nieces and nephews call me mommy while they call my husband Tito Boy (short for Tito Biboy). So last night when we fetched Yena at my parent's house, my niece Eya shouted TITO BOY! and then came running after her was Yena who surprisingly called his daddy.. BOY!

I can't stop laughing.

I don't know how my husband felt but if i were him, i will be bothered LOL. My daughter calls me Mom mey sometimes.. and it feels good. She sometimes calls her daddy Pap pap and it's nice to hear too! :) I know pretty soon she will master calling us so i know i just have to wait.

When do babies learn to hold their bottles?

There are very few moments i find Yena holding her own bottles at feeding time. She resisted holding them.. My sister teased her to be lazy at that..
Until now at 11 months and 2 weeks, Yena would only hold her bottle when she is sooo hungry. When feeding time, i would lay her to bed and place her bottle on a pillow just so she can have her milk before sleeping.

I saw my nephews mastered holding their bottles even at 9 months. I just wonder when do babies really learn to hold their own bottles? When did your baby started holding their bottles?? Is my baby getting late already?? ;)

Yena @ 9 months

I asked her to pose while i was trying to capture her every move with my cellphone camera, now look at what poses she gave me. She enjoys making face every now and then! I wonder where on earth she got them.

Anyways, its been 9 months of having her in our lives and it's been the best so far. We love her so much!

Happy 9 months my baby!

Yena and her Book

On her 8th month, all the time while she prefers to be crawling, i put her to test. A test to choose from 4 different objects: a ball, an empty bottle of C2, her teether toy, and her book. Book being synonym to education; an empty bottle of C2 for food; a ball for sports, and her teether toy for entertainment.

And guess what she chose?!

Her BOOK! :) (Does that mean she will choose to be educated above anything else or does book really appeal to her?)

As much as i want her to read, i know that what attracts her to the book is its color. It is red and is the bigger thing from all of the four objects, and so i decided to test her again. Same objects again this time.
And she still chose that red thing! Her book! Her bedtime story book. And i have to give in, yeah baby we will read together. This time i will have to read out loud to you before you fall to sleep at night. :)

Back to where she was born

Yena got fever thursday afternoon last week, the fever subsided and then the rashes came out sunday morning. We thought it's kind of measles, so we decided to take her to her Pedia next morning.
(picture taken, saturday afternoon. Even with fever, she is always with a smile!)

But came sunday night, when she only took 2 bottles of her milk and she cried for no reason at all. I cried too, got worried so much. Hubby and I decided to bring her to the hospital, to where she was born 8 months ago. At that moment, i prayed so hard, while tears kept falling down my cheeks. I dare not try to look at husband, we might broke down in tears at once.

(took a picture of her at the Emergency Room, where she hesitantly smiled back even in pain)

They tried to put her an IV. I thought the world was so slow paced, the process was so long and hurting. It ended up to nothing, It was hurting her. Hubby got angry, I signed the waiver.

(asking for help from mommy.. who was crying with her all the time.)

After two days of stay on the place where she was born, she is so much ok now.. Looks like she just needed some time off, some time for the three of us to be alone, bond and feel each others love and support..
(i am much better now mommy, no need to worry daddy!!)

Going home after two days of hospital bed rest. Thanks God! :)

Yena @ 8 months Part II

Yena likes to sit up on the floor, after rolling on the bed and playfully fall down on the floor.. As if walking already, when standing near the bed she acts like she's walking and jumping up and down.. :)

And for the first time, i saw her cry with people around her. She has stranger anxiety lately, noticed it just yesterday only when i let my friend took her for picture taking. On the positive note, she will not be kidnapped coz she knows now when she will be in good hands or not. Bad thing is that i have me and hubby to exchange carrying her!

Yena @ 8 months

Milestones:

> Cries for mommy 'maaamaaa' when daddy was so slow preparing her milk. It was like begging for me to do it instead of dad. :) This is one of our photo on that saturday afternoon, when she gamely poses for the camera. Told you she is such a camera addict. ;p

> Can do the 'chikading dance' with mommy or daddy. :D Yena and Daddy's picture right after her chikading dance!

> Got her first two teeth on her lower gums. Ive been wanting to blog it some weeks ago, but hubby hesitantly told me not to. It might stop the teeth from going out daw! waheheh. My mother noticed her sprouting teeth some two weeks ago. She was 7 and half months old. Now the two teeth is quiet visible. Click the picture and peek! :D

> Knows how to smile, pose and play before the cellphone/camera.. Isnt she adorable with that smile? Ofcourse i have the right to say that, she is my child. She will always be beautiful in my eyes. : LOL

> Do lots of facial expressions using her nose and mouth. She can do a lot of funny faces. We were so clueless where on earth she got that all?!

> So sensitive ala mommy style. I tell you, last night when her dad was playfully scolding and hitting her pillows, she do her sad face, started crying and turned her back from him. She never smile at him ever again until she fell asleep. waheheh. Husband has to get used to wooing two women that is as sensitive as onions for his whole life! Goodluck to him. :)

playtime, for her is bigtime!

> sleeping time, bath time, eating time and reading time for yena now mean struggle.

>you see, she's getting bigger and heavier and getting dynamic all the more that she thinks it is always PLAY TIME.

>when i wanted her to sleep, she would roam around the bed, kicking and crawling.

> i would often sleep ahead and found her still awake and on play time mode still.
AND yes, her sleeping time music is not that effective anymore and i sigh. :(

Yena's everyday music

Yena was 4 months old when i first introduced music in her life. I downloaded songs from free kids music and got a total of 48 songs. I separated sleeping time songs from playing time and sponge time songs. So far now, when i want her to sleep i just play her the songs and she will fall sleep right away.

her sleeping time songs include;
Bicycle built for two
Bingo
Clementine
Farmer in the dell
Freres Jacques
Home on the range
Joy joy joy
Kumbaya
- on this song, she is already sleeping. i let the music play until the end just to be sure that when she wakes up again, she has no choice but to fall to sleep back
My Bonnie
Twinkle twinkle little star

her playing time songs are:
Alphabet song
Humpty dumpty
Do your ears hang low
Eensy weensy spider
Found a peanut
Great green gobs
If you're happy and you know it
Jesus love is bubbling
John Jacob Junglehimer Schmidt
London bridge
Merrily we roll along
Michael Finnegan
Please and thank you -
she enjoys it a lot every morning upon waking up!
Old Mc Donald
One bottle of pop
The more we get together
and a lot more..

when its sponge time at night and she's so hyper active, i put on these music and she behaves well, its not that hard to change diapers anymore.. wink wink
Soap and towel
Row row your boat
Swing low sweet chariot
Round the mountain
Working on the railroad

Though hubby said all songs were like sleeping songs, im so happy yena know now what to do when she hear these songs. good girl! ;)

Yena's first show on a wedding

August 9, was pre planned and already ticked on our calendar of big events for August. It was Daryl's wedding, and we couldnt miss it, not unless we want to say goodbye to the friendship we had for 14 long years. While hubby's favorite among my friends is Daryl, this big event was a big yes and so we packed our bag and off to Bulacan! Yena's longest travel so far..

After the ceremony and the pictorial session which took about an hour, i really think the photographers had a lot of frustrations in life, kasi naman all of the poses were so artistic and napakabusisi! Given a chance, on our church wedding, i will get them! :)

On our way home, it was much more convenient, thanks to ate mina for the free ride! :) And Yena still battery full and hyper active at MH with ate binx and the rest of our alumni friends, smiling to everyone she meets along the way kaya naman at 11pm when we arrived home, and even after turning off the light, buhay na buhay pa siya and still was looking for a play time!

Came 1am, she wailed so loud, and cried for more even after comforting her... and then she threw up! That's the sign.. nausog ang Yena! Hayun, she cried until the wee hours of the morning.. :(

But she was still her bubbly self at 9am at the church! Yan ang spirit! :) Attend pa tayo ng wedding baby?? sa Bulacan??!! :)

Yena's Pedia Visit

Unlike two week ago's visit to her Pedia, Yena was so much better last saturday, thank God! While waiting for her Doctor, she kept on gobbling her biscuits and was wailing everytime she couldnt hold it up on her mouth and will only be her usual jolly self when she took hold of another cracker! :)

And when it was her turn on the weighing scale (she felt it was like a bed, she's readying to fall sleep! :D ) , it was a remarkable 7.3kgs already! I know now where was those 6 bottles of 6 0z a day had gone into, and i am not complaining, i would love her to feed more if she would like to! :)

Amused, her Pedia was playing with her all the time. It was just almost a week since her last checkup, she was sick then and weighing 6.8kgs.. I cannot be more thankful that she got well now! Still her Pedia prescribed 2 more vitamins - polyviflor and ferlin, an addition to her current vitamins ceelin and tikitiki. :)

And that day would not be complete without the picture of us. My officemates commented Yena really looks like her dad. They said, i look like her Yaya in this picture! :) LOLzz

After the visit, we went to mall and buy her outfit stuff for my friend's wedding next saturday. Stuff importantly includes, this headband!! :)

And because music can calm Yena before she sleeps at night, i now tried to read her a book. Hope it will still calm her, with this narrative voice of mine? Good luck baby! :D

what causes typhoid fever with pneumonia?

yes, our yena is sick. typhoid fever with pneumonia, that was her pedia's findings. that was too much to bear, but she assured me that yena will be better after 3 to 4 days, given proper medication.

wilkins was advised by her old pedia. and who would have thought that that mineral/purified/distilled water would have cause some bad effect to our baby??! months ago, i wonder why so many pedia in lasalle UMC insist on boiling 15-20 minutes of purified water than using wilkins. now i know the answer. wilkins distilled water, is not anymore safe, it is the culprit on yena's typhoid fever.

all the while we thought yena is perfectly fine. she is always active, actually even after the doctor checked on her yesterday, she was still smiling and laughing. what was unusual to her was her cries early in the morning. now i miss her waking us up with a smile and bubbling noise..

i really hope she will be better after 4 days and wakes us up again with a bang. ;)

Dear Yena,

(baby yena, this is what i used to call you that made you always look around and smile. you would always smile just hearing my voice, by this i know that as much as i love you, you love me back no less!)

(i am writing this now preparing for the time you would ask me things, by details id trust my memory on that, i hope you can read it when you're older, and by that time spank me just to get even to your mommy, it's alright baby.. i know i deserve it!)

hi my baby!

as i am writing this, my eyes are shedding tears. even crying a river now will not changed what had happened last night. while i know that my tears are not an excuse for being so carefree less careless mother to you, please accept my deepest apology. what happened last night would be the last, this i assure you.

i cannot believe how it happened so fast. i was so careful all the time, and on that fateful split second i saw you on the floor. i will not forgive myself from hearing your wails so loud that it almost struck my heart and soul. i was so hurt seeing you in pain, i spent the night looking at you, quietly sobbing careful not to wake you up, embracing and smelling you.

daddy and mamato was so angry at me and to what happened. but little did they know that i was angrier to myself. i am asking for forgiveness from you, to your dad and to your grandma but most of all i beg forgiveness to God for contemplating suicide right after what happened. i know, it will not change things, but i cannot bear to hear you cry and i be better dead than see you in pain..

baby, i love you so much. know that i will never allow anyone to hurt you and i am so idiot cause i was the one who hurt you that much the first time.

please forgive mommy, and please look back or look around again when you hear me call you.. 'baby'

love you 'til my lastest breath,
mommy

Yena and her bread alone

After mass, bisyo na ang kumain ng lugaw sa posh restaurant malapit sa simbahan, hihih. while eating si yena takam na takam sa lahat ng makitang pagkain, lahat gusto hawakan, lahat gusto isubo.. at para mapagbigyan, binigyan ng isang buong tinapay. if you cant be any less contented, ewan ko na lang. :)

Yay, on the 15th she will be 6months old na. And from S26 shift na to Promil. and on her last checkup 6.9kgs na siya, which means from small size diaper, medium EQ dry na siya ngayon. and on the 22th last dose na ng HIB vaccine niya at 1st dose naman for measles.

Being a mother, means doing your tough assignments with love. remember every single thing, from big to small details. memorizing vitamins taken on the morning and the evening. that is, 1ml tikitiki in the morning and .6ml ceelin in the evening. when sick, got to have hubby do the talking on her medicine intake. 2.1ml of klaricid and .5ml of ambrolex until the 17th. Followup checkup on Pedia on the 17th also.. and the list go on and on and on..

At least, after having 2 major surgeries, i can still recall and remind myself on what's next after each assignments. ;)
